About The Woven project

The woven project is a series of interactive collages that explore the topic of hand-me-downs. While often seen as purely physical, this project expands the definition beyond the physical to include intangible things we inherit from others. These include ideas, beliefs, traumas, likes and dislikes, and genetics. Every interactive collage is based on a real person’s story, collected by surveying multiple people anonymously or by personal interviews. Reflecting on these “hand-me-downs,” an individual can look inward to see what things they might unknowingly pass on to the people in their life.

About The Woven Project

Combining Physical and Digital

All the collages are made up of both physical found media as well as digital ephemera. Combining these allows for a certain textural quality in the final pieces.

Gathering Stories

These collages start by collection people's stories through anonymous google forms as well as having in person conversations. Each collage is inspired by one individual's story.

Interactivity

Using elements that make up the collage and using motion effects to make these collages interactive.
